Starting the work to reclaim your voice is a big decision.  You can’t trust your voice to just anyone.

I understand the physical and emotional toll of a vocal injury, because I lived that journey, for decades. It is a very scary, lonely place, especially if you are a professional voice user.

You don’t have to go it alone.

Speech therapy is great, but can only get you so far in your recovery.  You don’t want to live the rest of your life “being careful” with your voice.  You need a vocal coach who can help you regain the voice that you know is inside you so that you speak, sing and go about your daily life without FEAR!

Welcome to
CrystalVoice Vocal Health

Hi, I’m Crystal Barron.  I’m #notyouraveragevocalcoach. Through my decades long struggle with vocal injuries, I walked in your shoes.  And along the way, I collected a one of a kind vocal health and recovery #MindBodyBreathVoice tool kit that has helped 100s of voice users reclaim the voice that they believed was lost to them forever. And I’d love to help you too.

How to work with me:

Knowing the next step in navigating your voice struggles is sometimes confusing.  I’m here to help you every step of the way.  From connecting you to the right voice doctor that takes your insurance, to finding a qualified Speech Language Pathologist for voice therapy, to curating modalities to get your voice all the way back and better than ever, I’m here to help you navigate the steps of vocal recovery.

Your voice is unique.  It is different than any other person on the planet. You need a customized program to reclaim the voice you know is still inside you.  All my sessions are 1:1 and custom tailored to you, your needs and your lifestyle.

You can’t separate the voice from the whole person. And that’s why my services are all inclusive:  vocal work, MDH Breathing Coordination, Laryngeal Massage, Vocal Health Services, mindset coaching and TRE® (Tension & Trauma release exercises.)

The thought of adding one more appointment to your already busy schedule each week is daunting.  That’s why I offer flexible packages and the option of meeting online.  Even if we can just meet 1-2 times per month, you will see steady progress toward your goals.

Setting aside time to do a bunch of exercises is sometimes the hardest thing.  That’s why all the exercises I’ll give you are simple, powerful, and easy enough to do throughout your day so that you don’t have to stop your life to get your voice back on track.

What CrystalVoice Vocal Health clients have to say

Working with Crystal has dramatically deepened my understanding of my own voice. I had dealt with years of vocal fatigue – especially in my speaking voice – and even after a significant amount of technical/singing instruction I could not seem to get to the bottom of it. As a specialist in this area, Crystal was able to unlock several keys in my voice in just the first session. Since then, she has equipped me with a growing set of practical tools to help me identify tension when it first appears, and release it before it begins to take a toll on my voice. She has a thorough and integrated knowledge of voice science and muscular anatomy, and a skilled sense of how to apply it accurately and prescriptively. She is wonderful to work with, and I could not be more grateful to have her helping me in this season of my vocal journey.
— MIKAYLA FELDMAN, High School Choir Teacher
I started seeing Crystal because of issues I was having with my voice as a result of acid reflux. She helped me uncover areas of blockage in my body I had no idea were connected to my voice at all. Shallow breathing, muscle tension in my torso and neck, and tightness in my stomach. She taught me TRE, which gave me almost immediate freedom from muscle tension, and she also provided me with a myriad of other breathing techniques and exercises to help me maintain a healthy voice. She has such niche expertise in the area of vocal health, I would recommend her in an instant to anyone having voice trouble. She’s also a very compassionate and warm human! I’m so thankful I found her!!
— CARRIE ROSALES, Musical Theatre Performer
Crystal saved my voice after a rough time with vocal tension. Since I make a living as a singer her work on me was invaluable! I fully endorse all the Crystal does. She is educated and has a great intuitive sense to address whatever issues you may have. I HIGHLY recommend her!

I have had experience helping clients with a wide variety of vocal challenges.  The most common things I see are Muscle Tension Dysphonia, Chronic Vocal Fatigue, Laryngeal Spasm, Vocal Nodules, Polyps, Voice problems related to acid reflux, allergies, post nasal drip, Presbyphonia, Vocal Hemorrhage, Vocal Fold Paresis, Vocal Fold Paralysis, voice recovery post Thyroid Cancer surgery.

Did you ever struggle with your voice?

Yes. I was diagnosed with my first vocal injury when I was a young teen.  I struggled with my own vocal health for 30 years off and on which is why I am so passionate about this work, and helping others so that they don’t have to walk in my shoes.

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately I do not. I am a coach, not a medical provider so I am unable to accept insurance.

Do you work for a doctor’s office?

No I am an independent business owner. I have a huge network of voice doctors and Speech Language Pathologists who I refer to or who refer to me so that we can help our clients receive the best possible care.

Do you have payment plans?

Yes. When you are struggling with your voice the last thing you need to be worried about are finances. If you need help with the financial piece of things please contact me directly and let’s talk.

I can’t afford to come every week.  Will it benefit me if I have to spread my sessions out?

Yes!  Your progress will most likely be slower, but the way I work I am not just giving your random exercises to do.  We work together to build a tool set to reconnect you to your voice so that the progress continues between each session.

How many sessions will I need before I get my voice back?

Unfortunately there is no guarantee because every person’s body is different and has their own timeline.  Usually most folks will start to see significant improvement sometime between 6 and 10 sessions.
